On to the good stuff . . .

A majority of what follows I like really well. Here's a link to the post showing items that were damaged in the kiln.

well, so much for the bugs.  i'll post the other items in another post.

At Long Last . . . .

Had a lot of stuff out of the kiln just prior to the holidays.  Gonna get things posted.  Had some disappointments as will all kiln loads, but over all very happy.  Have established some glaze combinations that work and some that don't or might w/modified application.  notice the numbers on the bottoms of the pieces.  This is how I keep track of glazes so I can duplicate or modify as needed.  I also include this number in the item discription so as to keep track of what sells.

The glaze ran too much:

This plate also cracked through in the middle.  I may refire it with blue glass over the crack:

I was disappointed that the cup on this cracked:

I'm gonna post the stuff that did very well, well, or reasonably well in another entry.

yepper, was at the studio today . . . .

got a few things done.  applied resist to my pots.  as per the norm got it in places i didn't want.  i need an alternative to hot wax.  it's either burn myself, or apply it to places i don't want.

made stamps for my new mark:

also, put two new mugs up for drying b4 bisque fire:

yes-sirree-bobb!  that's a square mug.  the square bowls need more work.  but, i'm pleased with this one.  don't want it to be too ornate as i like things simple.  at least for now.  :D
